Family Advocate Supervisor
FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER
The Family Advocate (FA) Supervisor provides supervision to a team of Family Advocates who work directly with families transitioning out of shelter services or are at risk of homelessness. Family Advocate staff members also support families in maintaining housing stability and in establishing and achieving goals along a plan for financial independence, educational success, optimum health, and community participation.
The FA Supervisor provides individual supervision to Family Advocates; facilitates team meetings to disseminate information and to help problem solve; acts as a liaison to both Senior Management and to the other Family Resource Center services team; and advise Family Advocates on outside referrals for families. The FA Supervisor also assists in drafting reports to funders and for monitoring data entry on client activity.
Qualified candidates should have:
- BA/BS degree in Human Services with 5 years experience in direct service experience and 3 years supervisory experience.
- Experience working with individuals and families experiencing homeless, illness, or trauma.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, when necessary.
- Bilingual, Spanish or Haitian/Creole, a plus.
