The Partnership for the Homeless

Volunteer efforts in East New York

The Paradise Garden

The Partnership for The Homeless volunteers and Public School 4 will be working together with guidance from East New York Farms to continue the long standing tradition of a thriving community garden.  The garden which has a rich history was founded by Gladys Gonzales and Mary Sciales in 1982. Mary took care of the garden for 26 years until she passed away in May of 2008.

With this new relationship the garden will continue to be lush, green space and creative educational haven for the children and families of East New York.  For more information about volunteering with the Partnership, please contact Ed Snowden at or at 212.645.3444 ext 107.
