The Partnership for the Homeless

Add us to your back to school shopping list!

Almost 13,000 children in NYC are homeless. Together, we can give them a fresh start to the new school year and help them work towards a successful academic future.

We at the Partnership believe that all children have the right to a quality education, and the secure future it provides them. That’s why we’re hosting our annual Back to School Backpack Event.

On August 9, clients and their children will gather at our Family Resource Center in East New York, Brooklyn for games, arts and crafts, and a giveaway of backpacks filled with school supplies.

But we need your help!

Please donate backpacks and other items from our back to school shopping list (below) to ensure that homeless and at-risk children are equipped with the tools necessary to succeed this year and beyond.

  • Backpacks
  • Lunch boxes
  • Notebooks
  • Three-ring binders
  • Plastic folders
  • Ballpoint pens (blue or black ink)
  • Pencils (#2), pencil case, sharpener, and erasers
